Will work for Christmas

It's finally starting to feel like Christmas. All of the parties, banquets, performances, etc. are over and I can actually enjoy the holiday. Bella doesn't really know much about the holiday but she LOVES looking at Christmas lights. She says, "Wook mommy, lights!" We took her to the mall Saturday to see the church choir sing. I had planned to ave her picture made with Santa so I dressed her up in a cute dress. That didn't happen as apparently she hates Santa. When she saw him she freaked out and would have no part. Great. She loved running around on the choir loft and playing in the Christmas display that was clearly marked "Do not touch displays." It's probably not good that I'm teaching her to disobey rules so early.

This past week has been non-stop. Last Friday was the Young Married party at the Hardins. Gavin made CHili and kept a running tab on who ate his dish versus others. He is super-competitive. Saturday afternon Gavin's family we never see came over. Saturday night was his work Christmas party and it was awesome. They spared no expense with food and door prizes but the entertainment of a local high school choir was less than stellar. I guess I should not be too critcal of the kiddies. We played blackjack most of the night in the hopes we would win a prize. And, according to Gavin, we should have but had our prize stolen by the administration princess. We did end up winning a laser range finder for hunting...exactly what I asked Santa to bring. Ebay anyone?

Sunday was the kids Christmas program at church, Tuesday was skit practice for banquet, Wednesday was church and the beginnings of Blizzard 2008 in Southeast Texas, Thursday was I Have A Dream annual board meeting (it would fall on the ONE day I would have liked to have stayed home to play in the snow) and my work party, Friday was banquet where I was entertainment (people paid money - can you believe?), Saturday was mall performance and today was church choir program. AHHHHHHHH, you see what I mean. Christmas is work!!!

As always I love reading your writings. Wish I was there to taste the chili. Sounds good! We have managed to attend no Christmas parties whatsoever this year. Guess we are becoming Scrooges. Hope you enjoyed the snow. You got more snow and sooner than we did. We are making up for it this week though. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas.
